Heating

Switching to a heat pump can reduce your home’s carbon footprint by up to 65%

You could save up to 50% off your annual heating bills while lowering your CO2 output by 2 tonnes with the typical heat pump having a 400% efficiency rate. Which is 4 times more efficient than electric and gas boilers at 85%.

What are air source heat pumps?

An air source heat pump (ASHP) is an effective energy saving heating solution for your home no matter the climate. This environmentally friendly option extracts the solar energy that is stored in the air and converts is into heat energy, providing heating and hot water for your home.

Air source heat pumps are considered to be one of the most efficient and affordable heating solutions in the UK, and as a result, they are expected to play a crucial part in the UK’s goal to achieve Net Zero by the year 2050.

How do ASHP’s work?

Air source heat pumps (ASHP’s) are low carbon heating systems that takes ambient air and boosts it to a higher temperature using a compressor. It then transfers the heat to the heating system in your home. Think of it like a fridge in reverse.

High efficiency means saving money

Efficiency is a measure of the amount of energy a device delivers to your home compared to the amount of energy it consumes. The most efficiency heating systems deliver many times over the amount of energy they consume.

Furnaces and boilers generate energy from burning fossil fuels with an efficiency that ranges between 78-98%. A heat pump, on the other hand, can deliver 3 to 4 kilowatts (kW) of heat for every 1kW of electricity it consumes, delivering up to 400% of energy. They use electricity instead of fossil fuels making at a more environmentally friendly alternative with the added bonus of high efficiency.

Heat pumps are more efficient than other electrical heating systems as they can run on 70% less electricity. Instead of generating heat, they absorb heat from the air outside to deliver it to the house.

Air source heat pump warranty

All of our air source heat pumps come with a 7 year manufacturers warranty as standard. However for the warranty to be valid, your air source heat pump needs to have an annual service for every year of the warranty. We offer our own service plans for our customers for just £25 a month which include an annual service and protection from any problem that may arise.
